This chutney is a heritage of the traditional food of the mountains.
Ingredients for Chutney
To make Bhang Chutney, Bhang seeds – 2 tbsp, Green chilli – 2-3 (or as per taste), Garlic cloves – 3-4, Coriander leaves – 1/2 cup, Lemon juice – 1 tbsp, Salt – as per taste, water – as per requirement. A mixture of these ingredients is prepared by grinding it in a silbatta. You can add more or less any ingredient as per your choice.
Method of preparation
To make this, first of all the hemp seeds should be lightly roasted on a pan on low flame. Keep stirring it continuously so that it does not burn. Let the roasted grains cool down, then add hemp seeds, green chillies, garlic, coriander leaves and salt in a mortar or mixer and grind it coarsely. Add lemon juice and water as required and mix well. Take out the prepared chutney in a bowl and serve.
